Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!

Sandpoint HANDS OFF! Rally
12 pm – 2 pm
in front of the Bonner County Courthouse
215 S 1st Ave Sandpoint, ID

Tomorrow is the big day: more than half a million people, more than 1,300 events, spanning the country and the world, for the single biggest day of protests since Trump’s re-election!

We are expecting a sizeable turnout tomorrow, so please read through this post to make sure you have all the information you need to protest safely.

Please Note:

It will be about 60 degrees and mostly sunny tomorrow afternoon. Consider sunscreen and/or a hat!

Consider bringing some water to drink!

There will be no bathrooms provided.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

  1. Please stay on the EAST side of First Avenue; that is, the side in front of the Courthouse.
  2. Follow all directions of the Organizers and the Peacekeepers (look for them in their reflective vests)
  3. Remain PEACEFUL.
    – If there are counter-protesters (there probably won’t be), please DO NOT ENGAGE.
    – Peacekeepers are trained in De-Escalation; please allow them to use their training to ensure that our rally remains peaceful and safe for everyone!
    – If you absolutely feel that you must engage in conversation or debate with a counter-protestor, please move away from any crowd/group to do so.

Parking

  • Consider carpooling! Again, we’re expecting a sizeable turnout!
  • The Courthouse is closed on Saturday, so the parking lot is available for parking.
  • You may park in residential areas and walk to the Courthouse, but you must obey parking laws.
  • If you are parking elsewhere, please take note of any posted signs! If you violate City ordinances for parking, or park in businesses’ parking lots without permission, you may be subject to ticketing and/or fines.

Press/Media & Your Image

There will be press/media at this event. When in public, it is legal for press – or anyone else – to take photos or video of you and post it.

If you do not want your image seen publicly, please consider a hat, sunglasses, or even a mask if you are concerned.

See you tomorrow!

  1. I am driving up from Rathdrum (very new to ID) and coming from a situation where I couldn’t make signs. Will there be any extra signs? I am excited and nervous but so grateful that protests are happening. That we the people are going to make our voices heard. Thank you for organizing this.

    1. Hi Terese!
Welcome to Idaho! There will certainly be some extra signs at tomorrow’s protest. But don’t worry – enthusiasm matters, too! Even if you don’t have a sign 🙂
      Looking forward to meeting you!
