You Were Part of History on Saturday

Saturday, June 14th, was the largest one-day protest against a sitting president in US history. And you helped make that happen!

In more than 2,100 protests across the country, millions of Americans stood up to fascism and authoritarianism. (Some estimates put participation as high as 12.1 million people, which would put us well over the 3.5% to effect change.)

Here at home, almost 1,000 of us stretched along First Avenue in Sandpoint, from Superior down past Pine Street, exercising our First Amendment rights peacefully and joyfully! And all over Idaho, people showed up!

Thank you to all our Peacekeepers and volunteers!

Once again, THANK YOU to our Peacekeepers, who did their customary, exceptional job of keeping everyone safe and secure. You truly are the gold standard!

And thank you, Jackie, for organizing another food drive, coordinating with the Bonner Community Food Bank, and delivering all the donations to them! You’re a rockstar!

If you would like to train as a Peacekeeper or volunteer in another capacity, please contact us!

Huge Shoutout to Sandpoint PD and Bonner County Sheriff!

Thank you to our local law enforcement who kept us safe as we exercised our right to assemble and our right to free speech. We appreciate you!

If you’re so inclined, it would be fantastic to write a letter to the editor of the Sandpoint Reader and/or the Bonner County Daily Bee expressing appreciation for the outstanding job our local law enforcement did on Saturday. You could also comment on their social media pages!

Food Bank Donations

THANK YOU to everyone who brought donations for the Bonner Community Food Bank! It was, once again, quite a haul! We donated more than 200 pounds of food!

What’s Next?

We take direction from the national groups, and we don’t know what is being planned for the next event yet – but we will keep you posted! Remind your friends to join our mailing list to stay in the loop!

  1. Our food drive was a success! Thanks go to each and everyone of you that donated. We had over 200 pounds of food delivered to the food bank today. When you combine it with the last food drive on April 15, your contributions total approximately 550 pounds. Great job everyone. What a wonderful turnout.
