You have probably read about this sign, Everyone Is Welcome Here.
When a teacher in Meridian, ID, was told to remove it from her classroom, she resigned.
The Idaho Attorney General, Raul Labrador, has declared this sign banned in Idaho schools.
How utterly ridiculous is that? What is controversial about telling all kids they are welcome?!
They can ban the sign. They can’t ban the message.
One of our volunteers, Jason, had a fantastic idea: since teachers cannot display this sign, we will display it for them!
On the first day of school in Bonner County, let’s greet returning students and teachers with Everyone Is Welcome Here banners and wearing Everyone Is Welcome Here t-shirts.

The first day back to school for LPOSD public schools (where the signs are banned!) is Tuesday, September 3rd. We’ll line the sidewalks ACROSS from schools waving the signs and wearing the shirts.

We will need a Location Lead at each school.
The Location Leads’ job will be:
- Make sure participants are keeping the sidewalks clear
- Keeping everyone focused on the positive message!
- Ensuring that no signs/trash are left behind
