Welcoming students & teachers back to school – last-minute instructions

Join us tomorrow morning at 7:15 am

to let returning teachers and students know that we support them!

We will have Location Leads at the following schools and Everyone Is Welcome Here banners. Use the links below to sign up and get the exact location for each school.

Please REMEMBER:

  • Your Location Leader has trained for this event – please follow their directions!
  • We are there to support teachers and students. Please ONLY bring “EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE” signs for this event.
  • We will wave and smile to show our support; we will refrain from any chanting, singing, or calling out – we want the kids to feel welcome and happy on their first day of school!
  • First day of school is hectic! Please walk, bike, or carpool and park AWAY from the schools. We do not want to cause/contribute to any congestion.
  • Remain on the sidewalks, in the area we have specified. We chose specific areas to ensure we do not get in anyone’s way!
  • As always, we request that you do not engage with anyone there to disagree with our message.
  • IF SOMEONE APPROACHES THE GROUP, please direct them to your Location Leader

Why We’re Doing This

You have probably read about this sign, Everyone Is Welcome Here.

When a teacher in Meridian, ID, was told to remove it from her classroom, she resigned.

The Idaho Attorney General, Raul Labrador, has declared this sign banned in Idaho schools.

They can ban the sign. They can’t ban the message.

Where to buy the signs and shirts:

You can buy shirts and signs here. Click on the Everyone Is Welcome Here Apparel link at the top of the screen.

Brigade Screening (a Boise-based, family-owned and family-run business), the company behind the signs, has generously offered us a discount code:

See you tomorrow morning!
