Join us to march in the 4th of July Parade!

Sandpoint Indivisible is marching in this year’s annual Sandpoint 4th of July Parade!

This is the 250th anniversary of the birth of our nation. The 250th anniversary of an attempt to “form a more perfect union.” While our “more perfect union” is definitely a work in progress, it’s worth fighting for. And it’s worth celebrating.

Where and When to Meet

The parade starts at 10 am, so we’ll aim to gather by 9 am.

We won’t know exactly where our group is meeting until the morning of! So be sure to sign up to get last-minute updates!

Parade Route

The parade stages in the parking lot west of 5th Avenue between Pine and Church Streets. (Our exact meeting place will be somewhere east of that/toward Boyer).

The procession heads east on Church Street, turns north on 1st Avenue, travels west on Cedar Street, and ends back at 5th Avenue. The entire distance to march is less than 3/4 of a mile.

What to Wear

Buy THIS shirt or wear red, white or blue!

Signs to Carry

We will be marching with our EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE banners.

We will also have signs that read “INDIVISIBLE with Liberty & Justice for ALL”

If you would like to make your own signs, we ask that you choose quotes from:

Signs reading things such as: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion” or “The right of the people… against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated” or “Congress shall make no law… abridging the freedom of speech” will be powerful reminders of the founding principles of this country. (Remember, we’ll be walking, so people will have time to read your whole sign!)

Volunteer

If you would like to volunteer to:

  • Arrive early to help us reserve our gathering spot
  • Hand out Indivisible cards along the parade route (no candy or anything may be thrown into the crowds)
  • Help carry a banner during the parade

Please comment below! (Comments are not publicly viewable until approved.) We will get back to you as soon as we can!
