Washington State House Rep. Matt Shea’s week started with him being exposed as a participant in a group chat where he proposed surveilling Spokane activists, while his militia buddy Anthony Bosworth fantasized about slamming women’s heads into concrete barriers and shaving their heads.
Faced with the leaked chats, Shea doubled down – and linked to a white nationalist, Holocaust-denying conspiracy website where one writer proudly declared he had “no sympathy” for the 50 innocent Muslim worshippers murdered in the Christchurch shooting this year.
And tomorrow, Shea is scheduled to MC a John Birch Society event at the Best Western Plus in Coeur d’Alene.
Shea’s politics of hatred intolerance have no place in our community! Call the Best Western Plus at (208) 765-3200 and ask them to cancel the Friday night John Birch Society Executive Dinner.

Explain your concerns: I’m concerned that your hotel has chosen to host a John Birch Society dinner where Rep. Matt Shea will be speaking. Shea has participated in discussions of violent retribution against his political opponents, and sent out links to a racist conspiracy website. Please realize that hosting this event will result in negative press for your business, as Shea was recently outed in the local news as an extremist with ties to white nationalism. If your hotel wants my business in the future, please reconsider hosting this dinner and ask Shea and company to find a new venue! Thanks for your time!
