Vigil and March for Black Lives
Peace Garden
417 N 4th Ave
Sandpoint, ID 83864
Friday, June 19
5:30 p.m.
Please join Sandpoint Black Lives Matter activists, allies, local clergy, and neighbors for a community gathering to honor and mourn blacks who have lost their lives in the struggle for racial justice and equality.
This event takes place outside in the peace garden near the church on 4th Ave. downtown. We will be joined by local clergy who will lead us in a moment of silence. From there we will begin a silent march to two peace poles to honor those lost. There will be local speakers at each stop. Bring the names of blacks lost to police violence or to other forms of racial injustice. Rest in power all whom we’ve lost.
In Solidarity.
Rachel
From the Movement for Black Lives:
To mark Juneteenth, a day that honors Black freedom and Black resistance, join the nationwide weekend of action by attending this local event! We have three demands: defund the police, invest in Black communities, and for Donald Trump to resign.
